If you have your Restoration Requirements Letter:
Now that you have your restoration requirements letter; the first step is to get us a copy of it. Whether you have a car or not, we will need a copy of it to help you get your interlock license. The easiest way to get it to us is take a picture of the first page. Make sure we can read the name and address. And that we can read the Date of Birth, Driver Number, and Eligibility Date. Then email it over to us.
We will review it and respond right away with the next step. We do need to review the entire letter to make an appropriate response, so please send a pic of all the pages. If you do have a car you want to install the interlock in; take a picture of the owner's card and send it with your letter. Include the Odometer reading. We will find the nearest service center to your location and email you back the location.
You will want to look on the back page of the restoration letter for an application that you need to sign and send back to PennDOT. Many times, there is an application fee, a restoration fee and sometimes a renewal fee. Make sure that you read through the entire letter so you can find out exactly how much you need to send with your application.
It is also a good idea to make copies of everything that you send to PennDOT and put them in a file in case you need to refer back to them for some reason.
We recommend that your interlock device be installed about 1-2 weeks before your eligibility date to allow time for PennDOT to process your paperwork and fees. This will also increase the likelihood that you will have your interlock license on or near your eligibility date.
Remember, you are not legally able to operate your vehicle until PennDOT sends your Interlock License back to you. So many people plan to have a friend or relative drive them to the Service Center to have the device installed.
We want to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions, you can always call us at 1-866-718-8606 or use the contact form to reach out with questions.
There is a new Ignition Interlock Law that may cause you to be eligible to get an Interlock Device Early as a First Offender. We can help you complete your Ignition Interlock Limited License Petition too. Either way, lets get started today. the sooner you send us a copy of your Restoration Requirements Letter or reach out to us; the sooner you can get back on the road.
